swissQprint presents a convincing case
Karl Stadler is president of the jury and himself an experienced entrepreneur. He handed over the prize on 11 November 2016 and congratulated the three swissQprint founders and managers, Reto Eicher, Roland Fetting and Hansjörg Untersander, for their business courage and merit. swissQprint was set up just nine years ago. Today, the company has more than 70 employees and is active worldwide. In Europe, swissQprint is among the market leaders in the area of UV flatbed printers. The company’s large format printers are developed and manufactured 100 percent in the region, so in this respect many more than 70 people are working for swissQprint in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley. And thus it should remain, despite currency crises and costly conditions. It is a success story that impressed the jury.

Two-stage selection procedure

Nominees for the ‘Preis der Rheintaler Wirtschaft’ need to have demonstrated extraordinary and remarkable performance, and acted as ambassadors for the Rhine Valley. A nominee is a positive influencer and, in a sense, serves as a role model for society or the economy as a whole. It follows that the nine-member jury evaluates candidates by a variety of distinct criteria. swissQprint management and the workforce are very pleased with the award, which they see as both an affirmation and a motivator.
