There are times when everything whirs by without much notice. This summer is one of those times. You would think that with this high-temperature drought spell across much of the U.S., business might slow down. Not so. Here are some of the headlines you might enjoy reading about a wide variety of topics that are totally unrelated to most people outside of our industry. Let’s review the headlines briefly:

Here are some of the headlines you might enjoy reading about a wide variety of topics that are totally unrelated to most people outside of our industry. Let’s review the headlines briefly:

Screen USA’s North American headquarters held a MediaDay Screen 2012 late in June at their headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL, showing all of their Truepress Jet latest digital equipment. It even had a Blues Fest as part of the evening entertainment.

KAPCO welcomed Suresh Murugesan as senior chemist and new product development manager at the Kent, OH, location. His 15 years of research with water-based, UV-curable ink, binder, topcoat formulations, and digital ink dispersions was useful in this new appointment.

Ken Ferguson recently joined INX International Ink Co as technical manager for distributors. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, which will come in handy now that he has assumed national responsibilities.

Xaar welcomed Richard Barham as sales and marketing director. Barham came to Xaar from Agfa Graphics where he held a range of senior sales, marketing and management positions for 25 years.

Neschen Americas has extended its social media on Facebook. Product announcements, training info, videos and more will be showcased to demo their latest offerings.

Rhinotech has moved its production and shipping facility to more expanded space while retaining its centrally-located position at 2955 Lone Oak Circle, Suite 2, Eagen, MN 55121. The new base of operation offers a spacious training area where customers, instructors, students and others can get hands-on training with dry stencil film and other products.

EFI announced that it has received the 2011 Outstanding Supplier honor from PostNet, America’s neighborhood business center. EFI received the award for the company’s educational support provided at PostNet regional meetings.

MacDermid Printing Solutions announced the creation of the LUX Certification Program, an initiative whereby tradeshops and printers using the LUX Platemaking Process can become officially certified through MacDermid.

This is just some of the headlines that passed by our offices recently. This is certainly a time of change and growth in our industry, a time of promotions, expansions, and new products.
