School may almost be out for summer, but before class is dismissed, consider submitting your pupils’ best work from the 2006-2007 academic year to the Academy of Screen Printing Technology’s Student Screen Printing Awards Competition. It’s open to secondary and post-secondary schools, including high schools, vocational and technical schools, and colleges and universities that hold memberships in Specialty Graphic Imaging Association, FESPA, or the Asia-Pacific Screen Printing & Graphic Imaging Association.

ASPT will select winners in four categories. They include Textile: single color, multicolor, spot color, index and simulated process, and four-color process; Paper: single color, multicolor, and four-color process; Plastic, Glass, Metal, or Wood: single color, multicolor, and four-color process; and Serigraphs: original artwork on any substrate.

“This contest is an excellent opportunity for students who want a career in the specialty imaging industry. They’ll have the chance of showing their work to industry leaders,” says Dawn Hohl, SPTF’s manager of technical training. All submitted work will be judged and displayed at SGIA ’07, Oct. 24-27, 2007 in Orlando, FL. For more information, visit www.sgia.org/aspt.
