Best of Show and People’s Choice Awarded at the Expo

SGIA presented winners of the Golden Image Competition yesterday at the 2017 SGIA Expo (New Orleans; October 10–12). Judges evaluated 300 entries from over 60 companies in 53 categories, and the Best of Show recipients were honored with the top awards in the competition. The People’s Choice award is chosen based on the entry receiving the most votes from attendees visiting the Golden Image Gallery.

Judges evaluated 300 entries from over 60 companies in 53 categories, and the Best of Show recipients were honored with the top awards in the competition. The People’s Choice award is chosen based on the entry receiving the most votes from attendees visiting the Golden Image Gallery.

 

The Golden Image Competition recognizes the highest standard of imaging and includes almost every item — no matter how complex — in the specialty graphics industry. Among the Gold winners, the exceptional entries were chosen by members of the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies and given the highly sought-after “Best of Show” award. Congratulations to the 2017 “Best of Show” winners:

Best of Show (Digital): “Jack on the Rocks” by Dixie Seal & Stamp Co. (Tucker, Georgia)
Best of Show (Garment): “Miles Davis” by Midi Print Co. (Moscow, Russia)
Best of Show (Graphic): “Briks and a Door” by Kumazawa Screen Printing (Todashi, Saitamaken, Japan)
Best of Show (Creativity): “Chameleon” by Just in Time Printing Mexico (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico)
People’s Choice: “Butterfly in Flight” by GSP (Clearwater, Florida)

 

“The SGIA Expo showcases the very best of the world’s leading printers,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services. “The ‘Best of Show’ honor is awarded only to those who show remarkable control and ability in their printing techniques.”
