“One of the constant challenges faced in the print-for-pay and signmaking markets is spot-color reproduction…. This system allows professionals to select the right spot color for a customer and print that color with 100% accuracy every time,” says Rick Scrimger, vice president and general manager for Roland’s Color Products Div. He’s talking about the new Roland Color, a tool included in Roland’s VersaWorks 2.2 RIP software that’s designed to enable operators to quickly and easily match logo colors and other elements of corporate identity. Roland Color supports current models of Roland VersaCAMM, SOLJET, AdvancedJET, and Hi-Fi Express inkjet printers, and it features color-matching tools developed to help ensure color accuracy, optimize media, and boost productivity. The three-step Roland Color workflow involves producing a custom visual reference on the media for the job, matching the targeted spot color within a logo or graphic to a corresponding Roland Color swatch, and specifying the matching Roland Color in VersaWorks. Importing the library, opening the file, and converting the art elements to the selected Roland Color swatch prepares the file for printing.
