CustomInk, the “design online” custom t-shirt company, today announced it will open a new location in Reno, NV. The Reno location will be the first outpost in the western part of the U.S. for CustomInk, which opened a facility in Charlottesville, VA, last year. The expansion marks another major milestone for the 12 year-old company, which also just served its one millionth customer. The company anticipates the Reno facility will contribute to the continued growth of CustomInk, which has grown steadily since its founding in 2000 to become an $83 million business.

The company anticipates the Reno facility will contribute to the continued growth of CustomInk, which has grown steadily since its founding in 2000 to become an $83 million business.

“CustomInk believes that custom t-shirts have the power to unite a group of people or transform a special occasion. Our customers really seem to get that,” commented CustomInk president and co-founder, Marc Katz. “Their enthusiasm for the fun, easy CustomInk experience—and our Inker’s enthusiasm for delivering the perfect shirts—has been vital to the company’s success.”

CustomInk’s growth has accelerated over the past year, and the team’s goal is to build the company, which currently employs more than 350, to a $250 million business by 2015. CustomInk recently launched a revamped website and logo and introduced its new mascot, Inky the octopus. In early March, the company serviced its one-millionth customer.

The Reno location will enable CustomInk to better service its customers by extending customer service hours, and speeding delivery to the western part of the of country. The new facility will occupy 25,000 square feet in Reno’s Capital Commerce Center. Operations at the new location will include customer service, pre-production services, logistics and production.

CustomInk expects to hire 75 to 100 employees in the first year of Reno operations. CustomInk has been nationally recognized by Entrepreneur magazine and The Great Place to Work® Institute as one of the best mid-sized companies in America for which to work. Their headquarters location in Tysons Corner, Virginia has received multiple “Best Places to Work” accolades from regional publications and organizations.

Through its Three Hearts Initiative, CustomInk also regularly contributes to a variety of public service activities nationwide. CustomInk encourages and supports community service by providing ample paid time off for employees (“Inkers”) to support their favorite causes. In addition to the charitable work of its team members, CustomInk has also contributed significant sponsorship dollars and gifts-in-kind to nonprofit organizations, and will form relationships with charities in the Reno area as a result of its expansion to that community.
