Dover Corporation has completed its acquisition of Italy-based MS Printing Solutions S.r.l., the Italian designer, manufacturer, and distributor of digital inkjet printing systems and associated consumables serving the textile and specialty-material markets. MS will become part of Dover’s Printing and Identification segment.

In a press release, Dover states: “The addition of MS Printing Solutions’ leading technology will expand DPI’s served markets beyond the fast-moving consumer goods and industrial markets into the textile market, which is experiencing rapid growth in the utilization of digital printing technology. The acquisition will also provide synergistic opportunities and allow DPI to share and leverage technology across the segment.”

Founded in 1947 and based in Caronno, Italy, MS Printing Solutions has 70 employees; it expects its 2014 revenues to be approximately $70 million.

In late 2013, Dover announced it had has signed a definitive agreement to sell its DEK Printing Machines unit, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, to ASM Pacific Technology in Hong Kong. DEK is a provider of advanced materials deposition technologies and support solutions including printing equipment platforms, stencils, precision screens and mass imaging processes used primarily in the electronics industry.
