Roland recently introduced its SOLJET PRO III line of eco-solvent inkjet printers in 54-, 64-, and 74-in. (1372-, 1626-, and 1880-mm) models. Roland says its new XJ-540, XJ-640, and XJ-740 printers are the fastest SOLJETs to date. They can print at speeds up to 441, 449.5, and 458 sq ft/hr (41, 42, and 42.5 sq m/hr), respectively. Each uses a six-color (CMYKLcLm) ECO-SOL MAX inkset, supports imaging resolutions up to 1440 dpi, and employs Roland’s Precision Firing Pattern technology, which is designed to further enhance image quality. A built-in tri-heater system comes with each model, as does an automated take-up system. Roland VersaWorks RIP software also is included. It supports an array of media, as well as variable-data printing. It also offers Roland’s new Max Impact preset, which is designed produce richer color contrast for outdoor signage.
