EFI Introduces Software and Server Enhancements
Workflow improvements, textile design training among the announcements.
EFI announced a series of new products in its line of digital front ends (DFEs) and production workflow software at its EFI Connect conference in January. The Fiery FS350 Pro DFE is designed to drive cut-sheet and continuous-feed digital production presses from EFI and its partners. The FS350 Pro can handle extended-gamut color configurations and includes tools to reduce ink/toner usage. For shops doing superwide inkjet printing, the latest generation of the Fiery proServer Premium DFE uses GPU-accelerated Fast Drive technology to process jobs twice as quickly, according to the company. Version 7 of the Midmarket Print Suite includes new features for cross-job ganging and roll-media management, as well as dynamic scheduling, planning, and imposition in cloud configurations.
Finally, the company launched the new Optitex eLearning Platform, providing textile design training for pattern makers, marker makers, technical designers, and others working for apparel brands, design houses, print shops, and retailers. The on-demand training platform includes how-to guides, videos, and podcasts as well as full eLearning courses that can be purchased individually or as part of a package.
