The Gilman Brothers Company is pleased to announce the recent hire of Misty Lengyel, who comes to them with 20 years experience in purchasing and purchasing management, having worked for small companies and large corporations including Putnam Plastics, C&M Wire and Cable, General Dynamics, and Hubble. Lengyel was looking for a purchasing opportunity closer to home and after her interview; Gilman Brothers agreed they were a perfect match.

Having past experience in fiber optic, electronic device, medical device, plastic extrusion, Federal Grant writing, and international purchasing she will be a huge asset to Gilman Brothers. She was also on a Six Sigma Black Belt committee to consolidate and add Hazardous Materials to the Bill of Materials to better track usage and expiration. Six Sigma is a set of techniques and tools for process improvement. It was developed by Motorola in 1986 making it central to their business strategy at General Electric in 1995 and is used in many industrial sectors today.

"I love what I do and am constantly striving for more process involvement. I’m thrilled to be joining the Gilman Brothers team," says Lengyel who will be handling purchasing, vendor relations and stocking programs.

Lengyel may be reached at 860-823-2911 X201 or misty.lengyel@gilmanbrothers.com.
