At this year’s SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 22–24), the Dave Swormstedt, Sr. Memorial Award was presented to Guido Lengwiler for his book, A History of Screen Printing, How an Art Evolved into an Industry.

“Mr. Lengwiler’s book provides the screenprinting industry with a definitive look at how one industry grew and changed over time to become one of the premier print technologies,” says Marci Kinter, VP of Government and Business Information and secretary of the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT).

Chosen by members of the ASDPT, Swormstedt Award winners are celebrated for their writing ability and insight into the industry. The award is named after David R. Swormstedt Sr., former president of ST Publications (now ST Media Group) and the grandfather of current ST Media Group President Tedd Swormstedt. Any SGIA member may nominate an author and article to be considered.

In addition to bestowing this award, the ASDPT inducted three new members at the Expo. ASDPT members are chosen for their industry expertise, demonstrated ability in their field, and willingness to better the imaging community. The ASDPT welcomes:
