Hanes Acquires Alternative Apparel

Hanes has acquired Alternative Apparel in a transaction valued at $60 million. Norcross, Georgia-based Alternative Apparel operates three brick-and-mortar stores in California and New York, as well as an e-commerce site, alternativeapparel.com. Hanes says it aims to expand its reach in the activewear apparel market with its acquisition of the Alternative lifestyle brand, both online and in stores.

Norcross, Georgia-based Alternative Apparel operates three brick-and-mortar stores in California and New York, as well as an e-commerce site, alternativeapparel.com. Hanes says it aims to expand its reach in the activewear apparel market with its acquisition of the Alternative lifestyle brand, both online and in stores. Alternative Apparel CEO Evan Toporek will join the Hanes team to aid the transition, according to a release.
