Roland has introduced the Texart XT-640, a 64-in. dye-sublimation printer for creating transfer graphics for fashion, sports apparel, and more. Roland’s dye-sublimation technology has also been Oeko-Tex Class 1 certified for safe use on products intended for babies and toddlers.

Reportedly capable of reaching speeds up to 1098 sq ft/hr, the machine features a reinforced rail and frame structure for more accurate high-speed printing. Dual staggered printheads offer seven droplet sizes and eight ink channels for improved color gamut and quality.

The XT-640 can be configured in 4- or 8-color mode with the company’s recently released Texart sublimation inks. In 4-color mode, users can exploit a 2-L bulk ink switching system for unattended printing.

A feed adjuster at the front of the printer is designed to prevent media skewing and to create even tension; a media take-up system is also included.

The printer is equipped with Roland’s ErgoSoft RIP software designed specifically for textile printing. In addition, users can download the Roland Printer Assist app for iPad, allowing for remote-controlled printing.
