IMI Presents Inkjet Technology Showcase

The Information Management Institute (IMI) will hold the annual Ink Jet Technology Showcase on Sept 8-10 at the Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel, Baltimore, MD. The Showcase program brings current and potential ink jet printing system developers, integrators, and users together to glean technical information and establish professional working relationships with ink jet printing technology providers of printheads, ink, curing systems, materials, and instruments.

The Showcase program brings current and potential ink jet printing system developers, integrators, and users together to glean technical information and establish professional working relationships with ink jet printing technology providers of printheads, ink, curing systems, materials, and instruments.

Industrial + Specialty Printing magazine, media partner of the event, will have publisher Steve Duccilli giving a keynote at 4:45 p.m. on September 8, titled “Printing that Works—Inkjet’s Opportunities and Challenges in the Industrial Sector.” Inkjet Tech Talks start out that day with expert discussions on inkjet integration, ink testing methods, ink formulations, and nozzle maintenance. Mark Hanley, president of I.T. Strategies, will present a keynote that day on where inkjet is now and what it is expected to be in the future.

On Thursday, day two of the conference, three keynotes will be given during the day interspersed with supplier presentations. Robert Leahey, associate director, Color Digital Label and Packaging Service, will present a keynote based on the status and prospects for inkjet in labels and packaging at 9 a.m. Paul Calvert, M.D., will present a keynote at 1:30 on inkjet technology for biofabrication and bionic devices, such as printed self-assembled hydrogels as tissue mimics. At 4:45, David Savastano of Ink World will talk about growing markets.

Exhibits will be open for viewing from 1-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, September 10, several short courses on inkjet technology will be given, including: motion control, printhead evaluation, UV chemistry and curing, managing product development, and inkjet-ink filtration.
