CERRITOS, CA — International Coatings Company has announced the launch of a reformulated Ultimate Black 717 screen printing ink.

The updated ink is part of the company’s FlexCure line and can be cured at temperatures ranging from 275°F to 325°F (135°C to 163°C). Its low-cure, low-bleed properties are designed to reduce dye migration on cotton/poly blends and most polyester substrates.

The company describes the following changes in the reformulated ink:

The new formula has a creamier texture and a wider print window, which the company says results in faster setup and more consistent results across long production runs. Improved flow and recovery are intended to deliver cleaner prints and sharper edge definition across a range of mesh counts. The reformulated ink produces a deeper black with a satin finish and reduced gloss. The company also says improved coverage may reduce ink usage per run.

“We focused on what printers actually experience on press,” said Mark Brouillard, product manager at International Coatings. “This update makes Ultimate Black easier to work with, more consistent across jobs, and visually more pleasing on the garment while also delivering better value. It’s not just a new formula; it’s a smarter and more professional black ink for modern production runs.”

Ultimate Black 717 is available through International Coatings’ distributor network.
