Kornit Digital Ltd., Moshav Magshimim, Israel, announced it received US Patent #7,134,749 for its method of printing images onto dark textiles. The official description of the patent, as noted by the US Patent and Trademark Office is, “A method of color printing on a dark textile piece comprising the steps of digitally printing, by mean of an inkjet printing head, an opaque white ink layer directly onto a dark textile pieces: and digitally printing a colored image on said white ink layer.”

Kornit filed the patent on June 16, 2003, after proving its ability to develop white ink for textiles. Kornit has other US and international patents pending, based on the company’s chemistries, printing process, and machinery.
