M&R describes its Abacus manual numbering press as a versatile numbering system that delivers quality, performance, and durability. The Abacus employs a Chameleon eight-station manual press as its base and a 20-printhead Duo-Deck configuration on top, enabling users to print two-color numbers, and M&R’s numbering platens facilitate printing two digits on a single shirt without the need for flashing. The numbering platens slide from side to side to adjust for kerning when printing the number one. The standard frame size of the numbering system is 15 x 23 in. (381 x 584 mm). The Abacus can simultaneously accommodate screen frames up to 20 x 24 in. (508 x 609 mm) in all 20 printheads, or screen frames up to 23 x 31 in. (584 x 787 mm) in every other printhead. Numbering platens are available in sizes of 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 in. (102, 152, 203, 254, 305 mm). The Abacus is equipped with a machine-tooled and polished 3-in. (76-mm) center shaft, tapered roller bearings, microregistration with dual off-contact adjustment, and tool-free spring-tension adjustment. Indexer handles also can be added to the press. M&R developed specialized versions of the Tri-Loc Registration System and the Serrano Flash to complement the Abacus.
