Mark Coudray Wins Prestigious Swormstedt Award at SGIA Expo

At this year’s SGIA Expo in Las Vegas on October 19, the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) presented the 2018 Dave Swormstedt Sr. Memorial Award to Mark Coudray of Coudray Growth Technologies for his article, “Optimizing Your Flash Curing,” published in the August/September 2017 edition of Screen Printing. This marks Coudray’s second year in a row receiving the prestigious Swormstedt Award for an article published in Screen Printing. The annual award (named in honor of the late David R. Swormstedt Sr., president of Screen Printing’s parent company ST Media Group from 1963-1979) honors the best technical article written on any aspect of screen or digital printing during the previous year, recognizing outstanding writing ability and exceptional industry insight.

ASDPT also presented Best in Class awards to articles in four categories:

• Specialty Graphics and Displays/Screen Printing: “Screenroom Automation” by Johnny Shell, published in Screen Printing
• Specialty Graphics/Apparel and Textile/Digital Imaging: “Digital Textile Inkjet Printing: The Current State of Technology” by Johnny Shell, published in SGIA Journal
• Functional and Industrial/Screen Printing or Digital Imaging: “Skip the Label: Direct-to-Object Inkjet Takes Off” by Debbie Thorp, published in Screen Printing
• Specialty Graphics/Business/Global Technology: “Whipping Your Data into Shape” by Eileen Fritsch, published in Screen Printing

Coudray’s “Optimizing Your Flash Curing” was named Best in Class for the Specialty Graphics/Apparel and Textile/Screen Printing category.

Additionally, the Academy inducted two new members at the show: Alan Howe of Saati Americas and Graeme Richardson-Locke of FESPA.
