The passive RFID labels digitally store information such as identity, activity, location, and history. When the labels are activated by a reader, they broadcast to the reader so information can be downloaded into a computer for processing, analysis, and storage. The reader does not require a line of sight. An RFID label on the inside or opposite side of a carton still transmits to the reader. A label consists of a 3M topcoat or overlaminate, 3M face stock, 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive, silicon chip, antenna, 3M transfer adhesive, and 3M release liner.
