Those who use Roland’s AJ-1000 wide-format solvent inkjet printer can now use the 104-in. (2642-mm) machine to image onto mesh substrates. The AJ-1000’s optional mesh-printing unit supports unlined media and features a built-in drainage system for removal of excess inks. “Mesh can add drama, texture, and durability to virtually any graphic, from banners to building wraps,” says Ken VanHorn, senior product manager for Roland. “We are pleased to offer our customers this new unit, which expands their creative options and allows them to take full advantage of industry-leading AJ-1000 technology.” Roland’s AJ-1000 is a six-color (CMYKLcLm) device that uses Eco-Xtreme inks and supports print speeds up to 968 sq ft/hr (90 sq m/hr) and imaging resolution up to 720 dpi. The AJ-1000 also features VersaWorks RIP software and an integrated tri-heater and blower print-drying system.
