Mimaki has introduced a production dye-sublimation printer, the 77-in. TS300P. Designed specifically to address the challenges of working with thin transfer paper, the machine’s media handling system features a strong vacuum-fed platen to hold media taut while the automatic feeder applies calibrated tension; then, large press plates reduce media uplift immediately after printing.

In addition, the TS300P’s high-gap printhead setting is intended to prevent contact between the printhead and cockled media, with variable droplet technology to maintain droplet accuracy. The printer images up to 1238 sq ft/hr (4-color mode) or 700 sq ft/hr (6-color mode) with a quoted max. resolution of 1440 dpi.

The TS300P also features a nozzle check unit and recovery system, and a bulk-ink system that enables ink-pouch replacement during printing when in 4-color mode. It uses Mimaki’s Sb410 sublimation inks, which are designed with high stability for simplified maintenance, and are available in up to 6 colors (CMYKcm).

The printer includes Advanced Pass System 4 technology in order to reduce banding, uneven drying, and bi-directional stripes; it is also available with Ethernet or USB 2.0 connections, plus TxLink3 RIP software. Also includes remote event notification to mobile and desktop devices.
