ADM Tronics’ Unex Tri-Mode is a multi-purpose aqueous adhesive designed for applications in the packaging, converting, and graphic-arts markets. The adhesive reportedly works exceptionally well with laminations of most films, foils, paper, board, and paper substrates. Suitable applications include lamination combinations of polypropylene to paper, polyethylene to paper, and polyester to paper and paper to foil. ADM Tronics says the adhesive has been specially formulated for greater adhesion to low-surface energy films with its reduced surface tension, resulting in a greater degree of wetting and high bond strengths. (Corona treatment is recommended for applications that require high bond strength.) Unex Tri-Mode also has been proven successful in lamination of hard to bond films, including nylon and high-density polyethylene.
