Spartanics debuts its line of Finecut Narrow Web Laser Cutting Systems designed specifically for label manufacturing and other narrow-web applications. The laser cutters feature the same software engineering and other functions of the full-size Spartanics Finecut systems. The narrow-web systems, developed in partnership with EFI Jetrion, are designed to work inline with the Jetrion 4000 Series UV inkjet system. Spartanics says the combination delivers soft marking without pinholes or burn-throughs, laser cutting that optimizes for web speed and production rate, smart stop systems, and calculation of production rate during setup. Additionally, the spot-size laser is suitable for cutting sharp, complex designs, even in thin and heat-sensitive substrates. Other features include a 7.9 x 7.9-in. (200 x 200-mm) working field, contact-free cutting, fully integrated camera system for cut-to-print registration, systems integration of all control software, 210-micron spot size, and storage of all job parameters in one file.
