Nazdar, Shawnee, KS, announced it teamed up with Portraits of Hope, a New York-based non-profit program that conceived Garden in Transit, a community collaboration and public-art project that brought colorful graphics to New York City’s fleet of taxis. The project allows thousands of children in schools, hospitals, and community institutions to paint flowers on adhesive weatherproof panels that will be applied to the hoods, trunks, and/or roofs of New York City cabs. The flowers symbolize joy, life, beauty, and inspiration.

“Because we are serious about our responsibilities as a corporate citizen, Nazdar is pleased to make a donation to such a worthy cause, involving children in hospitals and schools in this educational project,” says Michael Fox, president of Nazdar. “Thanks to Nazdar’s partnership with MACtac, who provided the media, and AAA Flag & Banner, who printed the panels, this has been an overwhelming success.”

Nazdar is donating 3600 Overprint Clear UV clear coat, which is applied after the graphics have been printed, to protect the vinyl decals. Nazdar will provide clear coat to cover more than 750,000 sq ft of pressure-sensitive vinyl.
