The OE-A Business Climate Survey reports that 53 percent of companies believe their incoming orders will increase up to 20 percent; 47 percent want to invest in expanding production; and 78 percent expect general growth of the industry and plan to invest in research and development. The job market may see a bump as well: 45 percent of companies hope to hire additional employees in the next six months, up 22 percent from the Business Climate Survey conducted in May of this year.

Survey respondents also expect an increase in revenue of 10 percent for 2014. While this is slightly below previous expectations (16 percent of those surveyed in May), OE-A Chairman Stephan Kirchmeyer says, “At this point in the year, companies are able to turn in precise data.”

Results of the survey are applicable to all areas, from material suppliers to end-users, in Europe, Asia, and the US.

Lightweight, flexible organic and printed electronics are used in packaging and printing, as well as consumer electronics, automotive, lighting, pharmaceuticals, and energy applications.

The next OE-A Business Climate Survey will be released in March 2015 during the Large-area, Organic & Printed Electronics Convention.
