Light from the screen shone around the 200 or so people, hushedly standing in the sweltering upstairs room as Ryan Moor’s and a dozen other inspirational voices filled the space. “We believe in powering the print, and that through print, we can do anything,” were the final words of the new video which revealed Ryonet’s manifesto. This event, the Powering The Print Party, was the launching point of the brand’s new focus: empowering creation in everyone.

“They believe that print is not just a job or a paycheck, but that it is also a message and has an impact on a more personal level to people on both sides of the industry,” said Emily Rogers, Copywriter and Designer at Ryonet, who attended the event.

The event brought people of an industry together who may not normally get recognition for their hard work. Many screen printers work over 40 hours, seven days a week with very little vacation time. “It was beautiful to see [Ryonet] celebrating screen printing because it is something that we are all passionate about. It was touching to see them do that,” remarked one of the attendees, a customer of Ryonet. This event was a chance for Ryonet, those who attended, and those who followed along remotely using one of the social channels set up for the event, to honor and celebrate screen printers and the culture of screen printing.

Over 1,000 attendees registered for Ryonet’s nationwide Powering the Print party. It was held in seven of Ryonet’s partner locations across the nation, Vancouver, Wash., Oakland, Calif., Cerritos, Calif., Chicago, Ill., Shreveport, La., Naples, Fla. and Farmingdale, N.Y. In addition to the multiple parties, Ryonet used the hashtag #poweringtheprint to communicate across social channels and allow those who were remote to participate in the event, or follow along using their tagboard. This tagboard was also displayed at each location so that participants could see their photos on display in real-time. The video and Ryan’s speech leading up to it were played simultaneously at each event, allowing all attendees to see the new vision at the same time.
