Roland DGA’s new additions to its VersaCAMM family of printers/cutters are designed for the production and finishing of signs, banners, billboards, P-O-P displays, labels, decals, vehicle and floor graphics, heat transfers for apparel, and more. The VP-300 (30 in., 762 mm) and VP-540 (54 in., 1372 mm) systems feature accelerated print speeds, an optional newly designed media take-up system, and new VersaWorks 2.2 RIP software. Hardware upgrades to the VersaCAMM models include new belt drives, grit rollers, ink dampers, and pumps. The VP-540 and VP-300 print at speeds up to 166 sq ft/hr (15 sq m/hr) and 124 sq ft/hr (11.5 m/hr), respectively, at resolutions up to 1440 dpi. The optional media take-up system features a constant tensioning system designed to assist in media handling and facilitate unattended printing. It supports rolls in weights up to 66 lbs (VP-540) and 44 lbs (VP-300). The VP series uses ECO-SOL MAX ink. The printers use VersaWorks 2.2 software, featuring Roland Color, Roland’s new spot-color-fidelity system, and Variable Data Printing. The software also offers layout, edit, and print functions, as well as the ability preview jobs on screen, use two queues for handling different print conditions, and automatically update VersaWorks through the Internet.
