Printing Industries of America (PIA) will host its first OSHA Compliance for Printing Workshop on October 11–12 at its headquarters, in Warrendale, PA. The hands-on interactive workshop is aimed to help business owners, safety professionals, EHS specialists, and HR professionals gain a better understanding of OSHA regulations affecting their print business. Attendees will take an in-depth look at compliance strategies as well as gain insight into OSHA requirements. Experts from the PIA Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team will cover critical topics related to the printing industry, including common OSHA violations, injury reporting, hazard communication, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety.

Gary Jones, Assistant Vice President of EHS Affairs at PIA, is organizing the OSHA Compliance for Printing Workshop and boasts 30 years of industry experience with PIA working closely with OSHA, the EPA, and other federal and state-level agencies. “Recently, OSHA officials have labeled the print industry as a high-risk occupation. It is now, more than ever, of paramount importance for companies to maintain OSHA compliance. This workshop aims to strip OSHA regulations of their confusing legal jargon so that businesses can succeed while still operating within the law,” said Jones.

To provide an informative and hands-on experience, only 20 attendees will be permitted to register for this event. Pricing is $397 for PIA members and $550 for non-members. For more information on the OSHA Compliance for Printing Workshop, please visit: www.printing.org/OSHAWorkshop.
