Shirt Lab, a new sales and marketing workshop for apparel decorators, will debut on October 27 at the Center for Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, Ohio. The event, co-founded by consultant and Screen Printing columnist Marshall Atkinson and Envision Tees owner Tom Rauen, will feature a full day of hands-on training on such topics as branding, web conversion, lead generation, social media video, and sales closing techniques.

“What separates Shirt Lab from other industry information classes is the depth and experience of our instructors, who will be providing hands-on, workshop-style discussions as part of their individual topic presentations,” says Atkinson, adding that speakers will draw on real-world examples from some of the workshop attendees. “While we can’t work with every attendee on their problems, the day will be loaded with interaction, networking, and direct discussions about real sales and marketing challenges.”

Speakers include Dan Carr, CEO of Carr Media; #promochat Founder Jay Busselle; consultant and speaker Roger Burnett; Ken Seidl, a Johns Hopkins University instructor and former VP of sales for Fruit of the Loom; Ryan Moor, founder and CEO of Ryonet; Bill Petrie, president of PromoCorner; and Chris Bernat, co-founder and CRO of Vapor Apparel. A pre-event networking dinner will be held October 26; an optional dinner with the speakers will be held following the workshop.

Atkinson and Rauen plan to hold quarterly Shirt Lab workshops in different regions of the country. The location of the second workshop, to be held in the first quarter of 2019, will be Atlanta. The initiative also includes a weekly podcast, “Shirt Lab Answer Series,” that was launched in August. For more information, visit shirtlabpro.com.
