The newest member of Mutoh’s Toucan LT family of wide-format solvent inkjets can print at speeds up to 185 sq ft/hr (17 sq m/hr) at 720 dpi. The 100-in. (2540-mm) unit supports print widths up to 98 in. (2489 mm) and accommodate rolls of media up to 220 lb (100 kg) for unattended, overnight operation. Mutoh says the 100-in. Toucan LT features new high-resolution encoders, larger media-feed rollers, and improved bi-directional printing made possible by an interlacing and ink-laydown technique.
