Nigel Steffens has announced his retirement from FESPA after 23 years with the organization. Steffens joined FESPA in 1993 as assistant general secretary, rising to general secretary in 2000 and CEO in 2003. In 2013 he stepped down from both positions and took on an advisory role.

Steffens’ legacies at FESPA include the introduction of “mini FESPAs” in the mid-1990s, the acquisition of what became FESPA Mexico, and the expansion of FESPA relationships in Asia.
