Thieme GmbH & Co. KG, Teningen, Germany announced it is strengthening its commitment in the field of photovoltaics through a cooperation, has already existed for several years, with Jonas & Redmann Photovoltaics Production Solutions GmbH, Berlin, who produces handling systems for the photovoltaic industry. The two companies have established a joint subsidiary named JRT Photovoltaics GmbH & Co. KG, which will develop and market solutions for the production of crystalline solar cells.

The start-up company was announced at the international photovoltaic trade fair EU PVSEC, held Sep. 1-4, 2008 in Valencia, Spain. The companies say that JRT Photovoltaics combines the know-how and market experience of two strong partners: Jonas & Redmann has made a name for itself internationally as an automation partner of the photovoltaic industry; and Thieme is the technology and market leader for flatbed screen-printing systems and has already been involved in the up-and-coming photovoltaic market for several years.
