Schober USA now offers diecutting dies in tungsten carbide, a material that may extend service life by 20-30 times compared to traditional tooling, or up to 200 million cuts. The dies are used to manufacture products such as flexible packaging, folding cartons, household and personal-care products, and technical parts. The tungsten-carbide dies are available in solid or segmented designs or with shells with a maximum length of 13.8 in. (350 mm) and a maximum diameter of 7.9 in. (200 mm). Schober says the dies and modules are designed to absorb vibrations and keep all relevant parameters to minimum variation for predictable die/anvil life cycles. The dies and modules can be resharpened as often as regular dies. Schober USA, 11237 Grooms Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242, 513-489-7393, e-mail: solutions@schoberusa.com, Web: www.schoberusa.com.
