X-Rite released an updated version of its MonacoQCcolor software. Version 1.5 reportedly provides significant improvements to the performance of X-Rite’s software suite for verifying and analyzing color proofs in local and remote proofing environments. Version 1.5 features a label designer that allows users to customize the verification-label content for extended reporting capability. X-Rite says the software’s redesigned server and database structure improve stability and speed of data transmission over the MonacoQCcolor network. Other enhancements include an improved interface, new administration tools, and a new sample database. The software lets users define target printing conditions, set tolerances to operate within, and measure print results for pass/fail analysis. MonacoQCcolor is available in desktop and network versions. The desktop edition features a pass/fail client and industry-standard target and tolerance values for SWOP and GRACol printing. Users can purchase X-Rite’s ColorShop X software separately to build custom workflow references. The network edition includes ColorShop X software, the pass/fail MonacoQCcolor client, and the QCcolor server. The system supports multiple client connections and allows users to archive workflow data. MonacoQCcolor 1.5 also is included within the Pulse QC Ensemble, which bundles software with the Pulse Spectrophotometer.
