Vastex designed its DB-30 infrared dryer to address the challenges of start-up print shops: little space and limited electrical power supply. The DB-30 is a single-chamber infrared dryer that features a 30-in.-wide (762-mm) conveyor and a length of 4 ft (1.2 m). The dryer is offered in a 120-volt model (DB-30-120), which can be plugged into a 120-volt, 20-amp household outlet. The DB-30 can cure 80-100 shirts/hr. It’s equipped with a Teflon-coated fiberglass belt, variable DC belt-speed control, infrared-focusing control, and an optional heat control. The dryer’s X-series belt tracking system features 2- to 7-in. (51- to 178-mm) adjustable belt-to-heater clearance and a height-adjustment mechanism that can be tilted to accommodate irregularly shaped items. The DB-30 also is equipped with diagnostic pilot lights and a lift-off heat chamber for transportation. Users can add chambers and/or belt extensions in 18-in. (457-mm) increments up to 8.5 ft (2.6 m). Several options are available, including the Scrub Air system, which features forced hot air for curing delicate fabrics such as nylon, dazzle cloth, and polyester, in addition to temperature control, power exhaust, legs, casters, and a laser temperature gun.
