Roland DGA Corp. (www.rolanddga.com) recently announced the availability of its new VersaCAMM VS-640, billed by the company as the world’s first 64-in. (1626-mm) inkjet printer/cutter with a metallic-ink option. According to Roland, the VS-640 combines a new generation of printhead technology with integrated print/cut capabilities, print speeds up to 248 sq ft/hr (23 sq m/hr) in dual-CMYK mode, and ad-vanced media handling for unmatched print quality and unattended production. The VS-640 features Roland Intelligent Pass Control and support imaging resolutions up to 1440 dpi.

The VS-640 features Roland Intelligent Pass Control and support imaging resolutions up to 1440 dpi. Users can choose from three inkset configurations: CMYKKYMC, formulated for high-speed production; CMYKLcLmCM, designed to enhance blues and reds, flesh tones, and image quality across lighter colors; or CMYKLcLm+Mt+W, which includes Roland’s metallic-silver and white ink. The VS-640 also features Roland OnSupport, a new online customer-support system that allows remote tracking of VS-640 activities. The system sends e-mail alerts to a remote PC or to a mobile phone to notify users of job completion, ink supply, and more.
