Encad expanded its line of wide-format media with nine new products. Kodak universal backlit film is an 8-mil, front-print, backlit film designed for graphics for indoor and outdoor light boxes. It can be used in high-humidity environments and reportedly delivers optimal handling, image quality, and quick drying time. The film is compatible with thermal and piezo printers and dye and pigmented inks. The other eight new products fall into the Kodak Production Line, designed to produce high-saturation, indoor-display prints. The products are geared toward cost-sensitive, high-production environments. Kodak Production photographic papers (170g) replace the existing Economy Photo Paper (160g) and are for low-cost, short-term, indoor graphics. The photo papers are available in glossy and satin finishes with added thickness, white point, and color saturation. Kodak Production backlit film is a 7-mil product for short-term, front-print, backlit applications. Kodak Production reverse print backlit film is a 5-mil product with a surface designed to improve the apparent saturation of the image.
