Canon’s imagePROGRAF iPF6200 is a 24-in. (609-mm) large-format printer designed for photographic and graphic-arts professionals. The printer uses 12 colors of LUCIA pigment ink, which reportedly offers an extremely large color gamut and optimized for printing digital photographic imagery. The iPF6200 includes a professional-grade software RIP (EFI’s Colorproof eXpress), specifically designed for graphic-arts professionals, and an internal hard drive to create a streamlined workflow. The RIP software controls ink in all 11 channels and accepts a range of file formats, such as PS, PDF, TIFF, JPG, and PSD. Colorproof eXpress includes functions such as hot folder workflow, remote job processing, and one-click spot-color handling. The printer also features an intuitive interface, capability to access the content of the hard drive remotely via a built-in Web server, and borderless printing on roll paper. The iPF6200 comes standard with the Print Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, and includes PosterArtist 2008 Lite, a poster-creation program that includes professionally designed poster templates and hundreds of clip-art and stock images.
