You can print flags, banners, textiles, and other kinds of sublimated graphics with Roland’s new Hi-Fi Express FP-740, a 74-in. (1880-mm) sublimation inkjet printer. It uses eight piezo printheads and features an extended-capacity ink-delivery system, HeatWave sublimation inks, and an automated media-take-up system. The FP-740 can print at speeds up to 548 sq ft/hr (51 sq m/hr) and at resolutions up to 720 dpi. The printer’s ink-delivery system consists of eight ink cartridges that feed 16 intermediate reservoirs. Roland’s Automated Intelligent Maintenance System performs routine upkeep and actively monitors the printer, and the front-mounted, sensor-guided take-up system adjusts automatically to eliminate excess slack in the media. The printer comes standard with Roland VersaWorks RIP software, which features a graphic user interface and tools for color management, layout, editing, and printing function.
