Woolam Gin Awarded GOTS v5.0 Certification

Woolam Gin, an organic cotton gin based in O’Donnell, Texas, has been awarded the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS v5.0) certification. “We are committed to a ginning process that authenticates our Texas organic cotton at its source,” says Kendall Harris, manager of Woolam Gin, in an emailed statement. “We take this commitment seriously and work hard to ensure that our organic cotton meets the highest standard to date. This was a huge step and it is an honor to become the first GOTS v5.0-certified gin in the US.”

GOTS v5.0 certification is awarded to operations that are 100-percent compliant with all GOTS standards and requirements, including high-level environmental criteria for processing organics and socially responsible manufacturing processes, according to a release from Woolam Gin partner Applied DNA Sciences.
