3D Systems (www.3dsystems.com) announced in late December 2014 a partnership with The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), which launched a beta program for the ChefJet Pro culinary 3D printer, along with a series of conferences and seminars for the CIA community.

The ChefJet Pro beta program will test the printer’s production of edible confections, as well as the users’ experience with its Digital Cookbook software.
3D Systems also plans to begin fellowship and internship programs for CIA students and faculty at its Los Angeles-based 3D printing culinary innovation center, The Sugar Lab, upon its opening this spring. Outfitted with the latest food printers, the lab will invite culinary professionals to collaborate in creating new food experiences, and host symposiums, master classes, and other events. The opening will also coincide with an expansion of available 3D-printed edibles via 3D System’s Cubify online platform.
