The Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) has presented the 2017 Dave Swormstedt, Sr. Memorial Award to Mark Coudray for his article, “,” in Screen Printing magazine. Coudray was honored at the Chairman’s Reception and the Academy Awards Dinner at this year’s in New Orleans.
The Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) has presented the 2017 Dave Swormstedt, Sr. Memorial Award to Mark Coudray for his article, “,” in Screen Printing magazine. Coudray was honored at the Chairman’s Reception and the Academy Awards Dinner at this year’s in New Orleans. The Swormstedt Award, presented annually, honors the best technical article written on any aspect of screen printing or graphic imaging during the previous year. Awardees are recognized for their outstanding writing ability and exceptional industry insight, according to SGIA.
The Academy also presented Best in Class Awards in five categories to the following:
• Specialty Graphics and Displays/Screen Printing: “The Laws of Physics in Screen Printing” by Steven Abbott, published in Specialist Printing
• Specialty Graphics and Displays/Digital Printing: “Product Weathering Becomes Visual” by Bruce Ridge, published in SGIA Journal
• Specialty Graphics/Apparel and Textile/Digital Imaging: “” by Eileen Fritsch, published in Screen Printing
• Functional and Industrial/Screen Printing or Digital Imaging: “uo; by Julia Goldstein, published in Screen Printing
Coudray’s “The Fourth Disruption: Why Venture Capitalists Are Eyeing Garment Decoration” was named Best in Class winner for the Specialty Graphics/Business/Global Technology category.
Additionally, ASDPT inducted three new members during the SGIA Expo: Bill Hood of Bill Hood Consulting; Debbie Thorp, business development director for Global Inkjet Systems; and Tim Quinn, print process expert at Nazdar.
