The Cincinnati, OH-based American Sign Museum, founded in 2005 by Tod Swormstedt, former editor and publisher of Signs of the Times magazine, is set to relocate its more than 3,800 cataloged items to a larger home.

The new facility, located in the Camp Washington area of Cincinnati, features more than19,000 square feet of exhibit space (more than 450% more space than currently available), 28-foot-high ceilings to accommodate large signs, a working neon shop, event space for up to 800 people, signmaking archives, and more. According to Swormstedt, an initial 19,300 square feet of the building is now being developed, and with the help of generous donors, the new, permanent home of the American Sign Museum will open its doors in the spring of 2012.

The American Sign Museum is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Its mission is to inform and educate the general public, as well as business and special-interest groups, about the history of the sign industry and its significant contribution to commerce and the American landscape. To learn about membership and other opportunities to support the museum and its growth, visit www.signmuseum.org or contact tod@signmuseum.org.
