Anti-Glare and Anti-Graffiti Film

SIGMAGraF Anti-Glare films are what MacDermid Autotype believes to be the world’s first films that combine anti-glare and anti-graffiti properties in a single material. MacDermid says the films, which are intended for display applications, incorporate a robust polyester base protected by a tough hardcoat upper, or outer, surface layer with an inkjet-printable underside layer for reverse printing. The construction of the material creates a substrate that is dimensionally stable under various storage, production, and end-use environments. MacDermid modified the surface characteristics of the hardcoat to produce a nano-roughened finish that reflects less than 55% of light at 60º angle. MacDermid also developed the hardcoat layer to be resistant to scratches, scuffs, and abrasions. Two different inkjet primers are available, including the Plus coating, which is suitable for aqueous, pigmented inks, and the UVjet primer, designed for UV inkjet printers. SIGMAGraF Anti-Glare has been awarded anti-graffiti resistance accreditation to the ASTM D 6587 standard.
