ASPT Presents Student Screen-Printing Awards

The Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT), Fairfax, VA, recognized winners in the first ASPT Student Screen Printing competition and Best in Show awards for the Golden Image Awards competition, which took place at SGIA ’06 in Las Vegas, NV in September. “These students’ accomplishments represent the future direction of the screen-printing industry and ensure its continued strong presence in the specialty imaging community,” says Michel Caza, chairman of the ASPT.

Drew Scheer (Walton High School, Marietta, GA), received the Best in Show in the Secondary School division (vocational and high schools) for his “Dane Cook 6 Color Index” piece. In the Post-Secondary School division (technical school, college, and university), the Best in Show was awarded to “Braunschweig” by Anja Wulff, Nadine Meyer, Nick Strauss, Martin Oho, and Daniel Fricke (Kroschke Sign-International GmbH, Braunschweig, Germany).

ASPT recognized the students for their achievements and showcased their work in the Golden Image Awards display at SGIA ’06. The students and their respective schools also received monetary scholarships sponsored by ST Media Group Int’l, Cincinnati, OH.

In addition to the student awards, ASPT gave Best in Show awards to ETF Tekstil AS (Istanbul, Turkey) and Homage (Las Vegas, NV). For a complete list of the ASPT student winners, visit www.sgia.org/aspt.
