Breard, Hohl, and Ingram Become Newest ASPT Members

The Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) has inducted three new members into its ranks. Denise Breard of the SGIA, Dawn Hohl of the Screen Printing Technical Foundation (SPTF), and Dr. Sam Ingram of Clemson University were recognized with membership in the honorary organization for their contributions to the technical growth and advancement of the screen-printing industry.

Breard recently joined SGIA’s technical services team after serving in several technical training and sales positions with Sericol. Her career also included sales-and product-management positions with Autotype Americas. She has served on SGIA’s board of directors, conducted training programs for the SPTF, and published more than 20 technical articles for various publications. In 1999, Breard won SGIA’s Key Award for her educational contributions to the industry.

Hohl has been employed by SPTF since 1989 and currently serves as its technical training manager. She developed an extensive Screen Printing Process Model Variable Chart, initiated SPTF’s e-Training program, and supervised the development of answers to more than 400 FAQs on the foundation’s FastFAQ online service. Additionally, Hohl assisted in developing, refining, and conducting several of the foundation’s seminars. She has penned more than two-dozen research reports and articles and completed more than two-dozen major research projects for SPTF.

Ingram, professor and chair of the Department of Graphic Communications, College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University, has published numerous articles about screen printing and authored the book, A Screen Printing Primer. Ingram also conducted research about direct printing process color onto textiles, screen-printed glaze decoration of ceramics, and beta-site testing for color management/measurement software and inkjet RIP devices. Ingram received SGIA’s Mentor Award in 1989 for his educational contributions to screen-printing technology.
