Graphtec America unveiled its FC8000 series Cutting Pro cutting plotters for sign makers, graphic artists, and others. The plotters feature a 3-in.-wide (76.2-mm) interactive LCD control panel with a dual configuration function that allows two different users to set and save independent settings for customized jobs on a single FC8000 cutter. The FC8000 series is available in five configurations, from 24-64 in (610-1626 mm). Eight condition settings for each of the two users provide instant recall of pre-programmed setup conditions. Other features include a maximum cutting speed of 58.5 in./sec (1486 mm/sec), 4.0G maximum acceleration, and 20-600g selectable cutting forces for processing high-intensity reflective film, sandblast resist rubber, automotive window and paint protection films, self-adhesive vinyl, and more. Optional Ethernet capability allows for one user to run multiple machines, and ARMS (Advanced Registration Marks System) adjusts for several types of potential print distortions. The cutters also are equipped with additional push rollers with three tension settings. Optional accessories include stand-integrated media racks, second penholder, and an Automotive Film AKZ kit, which includes extended media brackets and antistatic string installed on the front and back of the cutter and a chamfer-tipped blade holder. A Windows driver for PCs, Controller software for remote cutter/plotter setup/operation, and Adobe Illustrator/CorelDRAW plug-in software for Macintosh and Windows come standard with the cutters.
