Switzerland-based DEK received an award for its ProFlow DirEKt Imaging technology at the Nepcon China 2006 Exhibition in Shanghai. ProFlow DirEKt technology won best entry in the Dispensing Systems/Equipment category at the Electronics Manufacturing Asia Innovation Awards 2006.

DEK says its ProFlow technology dramatically improves the efficiency of the surface mount preplacement process and delivers environmental benefits and exceptional ease-of-use for operators. Using the fully enclosed ProFlow transfer head, DirEKt Imaging deposits adhesive dots across the entire surface of a board in a single stroke. This process allows the throughput to match the intake rates required by high-speed placement systems. The sealed ProFlow cassette prevents exposure of the adhesive to the atmosphere, which ensures the substrate will not absorb air or water during the dispensing operation. DEK North America is located at 1308 Plum Grove Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60173, 847-397-3355, fax: 847-397-3330, Web: www.dek.com.
