Direct-to-Garment Imaging System

The DTC 4000 Imaging System from Digital Art Solutions and Sawgrass Technologies can allow you to capture revenues from printing short runs of graphics and text directly onto garments. The system is based on the Epson 4000 inkjet printer and NaturaLink inks. It reportedly produces high-quality, bright, and long-lasting imprints. The DTC 4000 system uses variable-droplet piezo DX3 drop-on-demand printhead technology, supports imaging resolutions up to 1440 dpi, and is compatible with 100%-cotton and cotton-blend substrates up to 2 in. (51 mm) thick. The system features a maximum printing width of 16.5 in. (419 mm) and length of 22 in. (559 mm). It is equipped with a conveyor belt that features an optical alignment system and a Quick Snap Platen System, which allows users to add and remove platens at the start of the next print. NaturaLink technology uses patented dye and pigmented inks that chemically bond to cotton molecules. Variable data printing is possible using Digital Art Solutions’ Name Drop Xpress software, which allows users to create a single design in CorelDRAW, and then create multiple variations of the design with different text or logos. The DTC 4000 package includes the direct-to-cotton imaging system, color-management software, dual CMYK NaturaLink cartridges, one platen frame, two garment platens, Digital Art Solutions’ manual and training guide, an interactive video training CD, and free lifetime technical support.
