Durst Phototechnik Group, Brixen, Italy, and St. Paul, MN-based 3M Commercial Graphics have created a strategic relationship that will bring together Durst’s UV inkjet printers and 3M’s media and UV inks. The companies say the alliance will provide users with advanced, unique printing solutions based on emerging UV digital-printing technology.

“Innovation will occur more and more in the area of applications by aligning printing technology, inks, and media and offering new, better, and more economical solutions to the printing market,” says Dr. Richard Plock, CEO of Durst Phototechnik Group. “This alliance is the combination of the benchmark leaders with regard to these three aspects of innovation in inkjet printing.”

Bob Doughty, vice president of 3M’s Commercial Graphics Division, says the companies’ strong reputations for quality and innovation with their respective technologies are a natural fit. As he puts it, “We are confident that Durst’s commitment to UV-printer technology, combined with 3M’s high-performance UV inks and graphics media, will provide our customers with a variety of effective, creative options for fleet, architectural, and promotional applications.”
